Motorcycle bikes have a varied history that span the globe. The first motorbike built came from America. In 1867, Sylvester H Roper built a coal fired steam engine called a velocipede and later, in 1869, he gave a demonstration all through New England at fairs and circuses. This product never found a niche but did inspire others to do more work and create motorcycle bikes that could be useful in day-to-day use.
Edward Butler from England made a motorbike that was a tricycle. It had and engine and was so frightening to the people that saw it, many wanted laws banning it, one even suggested the rider have a second person to alert the citizens. They were to carry a flag and wave it in front of the motorbike, announcing the arrival of it as a warning.
Daimler, once an assistant to Nicholaus Otto, frequently gets the credit for creating the first two wheeled motorcycle that resembled the bike of today, although it did have a set of smaller wheels on each side, much like training wheels. Daimler left Otto and ventured on his own after he developed an engine for his motorbike. The bike made from wood, had wheels that, instead of the rubber used today, were also wood, iron banded wood, however. Even though motorcycle bikes were a success, Daimler quit to concentrate on motorcars. Later he would join Karl Benz to create the company Daimler-Benz Corporation.
The first successful bike was also a tricycle with a motor. It was from the company Hildebrand & Wolfmueller in Munich. At this point, several men dabbled in the creation of motorcycle bikes, mostly for exhibition and racing. The Indian Motorcycle Company got it’s start during the creation and perfection of the motorcycle.
By the year 1903, William S Harley convinced his lifelong friend, Arthur Davidson to help him build the model of an engine to put on a bike. These two twenty-year-old men worked for hours in their factory. The factory, by the way was nothing more than a shed that was 10 X 15 feet. They knew they would have a viable product, because they wrote the words, “Harley-Davidson Motor Company” on the door of the shed. These men did not realize that the motorcycle bikes they created would be a popular method of transportation. They started by creating the bike for racing.
Their first motorbike was complete and ready for testing. The men watched excitedly as they prepared to time this speed monster. It handled well on flat land and then it came to a small hill in that Milwaukee neighborhood. The rider kept the bike on course as it slowed down little by little and finally, he had to use the bike pedals to conquer the gradual hill. The two boys knew it was time to go back to the drawing board and produced a working model later that year. By 1904, they had a dealer and in 1905, not only hired their first full time employee, but also won the race in Chicago on the 4th of July.

Torque boots represent the maximum expression in Dainese foot protection technology. Light weight and safety come together in a product designed expressly for sports use that is also the natural evolution of the Axial Project, which has now in its third generation following the birth of the D-Axial boot in 2000 and its improvement as the Axial boot in 2005. Like its two predecessors, the Torque-out version was designed for “OUT” wear (the Dainese patented exclusive racing suit/boot coupling system) and vaunts the tried-and-tested internal Axial protection structure developed with help from the best racers on the MotoGP circuit and Dr. Costa’s Mobile Clinic. Unlike the Torque-in version, the Torque-out model is worn outside the pants by. The Axial system limits the twisting of the ankle and consequent trauma to the rider, while also enveloping the foot and the ankle for protection against impact, which is efficiently absorbed through even distribution around the entire structure. The insertion of the new Lorica bellows and a new external structure in thermoplastic material improve the boot’s ergonomic efficiency, increase comfort, and promote greater freedom in the movement of the foot. A new slider in stainless steel applied to the exterior rear part bonded to supports in thermoplastic material increases both the boot’s anti-grip properties and abrasion resistance in case of falling followed by sliding. The new technologies adopted for the design of the boot have permitted considerable reduction in industrialisation costs, and this permits a boot with avant-garde technical content to be sold at an extremely competitive price to the advantage of all Dainese motorcycle riders. As in the Torque-in version, the Torque-Out model features a new slider in stainless steel applied to the exterior rear part bonded to supports in thermoplastic material that increases both the boot’s anti-grip properties and abrasion resistance in case of falling followed by sliding.**Features
