I am interested in learning and buying a motorcycle. Im want to get something more sporty like a crotch rocket. This will be my first bike so Im looking on the cheaper side and not too concern about it having a lot of power. If anyone could make some suggestions it would help me alot.

Stay away from anything that has an R in it’s name, anything that has full body plastic or anything that is a sport bike.

HEY, EXCITING NEWS! (for me) …
Motorcycle Classics has put my bike on the cover and they wrote a very nice article about my BMW story. You can read it here: http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/motorcycle-reviews/a-very-special-1958-bmw-r50.aspx
Now, here is the description of the slideshow:
This is a photo story of my father’s 1958 BMW R50:
Boy meets girl, gets married, buys motorcycle. Rides it for 60,000 miles and has accident when wife is pregnant with 3rd child. (me) Wife orders motorcycle to be taken off road until all her children are grown and on their own. One day when bike is moved to a different storage location, son sits on bike and dreams of being a Jedi Master like his father. Couple grows old together and bike is not ridden for 40 years. Husband is now a grandfather of 7 and married for 50 years, when he dies of a stroke at age 71.
Son looks over the old rotting machine and finds note attached to it from his father to him. Son decides to restore the old 1958 BMW R-50 as a tribute to his father. With the help of many friends, especially Peter Nettesheim, world renowned BMW collector, bike is restored to look even better than it did when it was built in Germany.
Watch it at 720p in full screen for best quality.

It’s like a dirt bike, but you can drive it on the streets and it looks a little different.
I want to get one because I need transportation.
But I think the dirt bike part will make it a bit safer on the bumpy parts.
I think I heard you need to be a certain height or taller?
I’m 5’8", is that tall enough?
Thanks!
Don’t get a dual sport just for the bumpy parts of roads! Dual sports are more ment for the dirt than the road! It gets very uncomfortable after a while! I have had one and I hated it! It wasn’t a good motorcycle and it wasn’t a good dirtbike! I now have a ninja 250r and a yz 250 dirtbike!
Most motorcycles can handle bumps just fine!

A motorcycle was first called a motor bike/motorized bicycle. When you give something a name, it sticks. And, in case you ask, bi-cycle, by=two, cycle=wheel that turns round

well as it always turns out owning a Indian motorcycle if always a adventure. In the last video i was going to mount the license plate bracket on the BDL belt drive like it was intended to do…… but of course it wouldn’t fit. So i had to bust out the milling machine and make [...]

I’m about to get my bike license, and I’m looking at a 2009 or 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 650R. I want something good looking, not terribly difficult to ride (and learn on), not too expensive, but with fair power too. I really like sports bikes, and this seems to be what I’d like.
But, I’m completely new to motorcycles and their capabilities, so I might be wrong. would this be a good newb bike, or is there another that sounds like what I want but would be better?
Actually the 650R is a great starter bike! Its one of the few hybrid sportbikes that has the lifted bars instead of clip ons, and lets you sit a little more upright instead of in a crouched position. I think its an awesome starter. Good luck!
