I fail to understand that if you dislike the new bike so much, why buy it in the first place. Taking a stock vehicle and then modifying it even before you have had a chance to experience what the manufacturer had planned for you; is kinda being impatient (to put it very mildly). Don’t do this pal.

If you can afford it, there isn’t any reason not to have it done right away. Just be sure the dealer will honor the warranty with the modifications and away you go.

Add all the ‘Performance Upgrades’ you want. You still aren’t going to have any performance. You harley guys never cease to amaze me. Double the price of your bike in performance upgrades and prepare to be owned by every 16 year old with a used $2K 600 sportbike.

I think your money would be better spent on handlebar tassels and doo rags.

The dealer may cut you a break for installation before delivery. I know they did for me.

Have the dealer do the installs for you. Warranty would be my first concern. If they do it and your bike quits it’s on them not you. Follow your break in procedures to the letter, it makes a difference in how long your engine will last, and have your bike serviced according to their policies/schedules. I have seen too many new bikes going down the road with smoke coming from the exhaust.
Take the Motorcycle Safety Course, it could save your life.

You do need to purchase them at the time of bike purchase in order to keep warranty. I have seen the bad side of that with a friends bike.

Yes, it’s alright to do it in whatever sequence you want.
It’s your ride.

You may just want to look into the warranty – if you’re interested in keeping it.

Got to love all these little kids making remarks about Harleys. There’s a big difference between cruising and riding like a total a-hole. Most of those "600" cc bikes I see flying by me end end being passed by me as they get their ticket written out or their bodies scraped off the asphalt (while they’re riding with an oversize helmet, shorts, no shirt and sneakers) If they stopped spending their money on dope and burgers they’d be able to afford a Harley also. MY thoughts are this,,,if its got 2 wheels its a bike. I never think I’m better because I choose a Harley, but I may not like some people with adolesent attitudes that ride rice-rockets. "I love the smell of burned rice".
