bear with me here!
When you go to any biker event 95% of the merchandise that all the vendors sell is geared toward Harley Riders-Owners!
Do you agree?
But do you think that the Harley Owners have the money to spend on the vendors since the bike they ride costs so much and requires more money to accessorize, repair and maintain?
This is no cut down to Harley Owners, all i'm saying is if the vendors that sell motorcycle merchandise would include metric motorcycle items that maybe (just maybe) they would sell more, make more money cause the people that own the metric bikes have more money to spend than the harley guys?
The reason i'm asking is i'm thinking about renting a site from a future motorcycle event in my area and sell new and used metric bike parts and accessories, I have full face helmets, risers for handlebars, used engines, and I also have a kit to make custom cables. Will I do well selling metric parts or not?
Carlisle Bike Fest, Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle, PA, July 17-19
If I do set up a stand there maybe some of my good friends from Yahoo Answers can visit me and shake my hand.
It will be great to meet you
thats actually a good idea, the fact is that metric custom cruisers are out there in a BIG way. V twin magazine features METRIC cruisers as well as H.D. And Im talking SERIOUS big money jap bikes! I myself have been chopping Jap bikes for years and it takes a lot of skill to do it because there isnt much of an aftermarket for the metric bikes! If somebody would come out with ridgid frames and and other major components guys like me would buy the stuff.I have to make my own or modify a sportster frame. Of course you will have to develop your market people gotta know that you have a product to sell them.

Yeah and it kinda says Harley didn't get it right the first time.
Buy a Honda bike, at least it's built in America.

your questions always make me chuckle.i bet harley davidson, earn more money out of merchandising than selling bikes.if you're selling custom related parts, then i suppose you'd have to do your homework,go to a few,and pick an appropriate show to sell your wares at.funny thing is,if you took all the jap parts off a harley,it wouldn't run,now that's funny!!

I hear ya bro! The yuppies sure gave the Harley riders a bad name. Once they decided riding a Harley was cool, then the demand for the bikes, parts, accessories, etc. went up, along with their prices, because the yuppie could afford it. There are still people out there wanting the parts you have (like myself), but you probably already know that you won't get the same money as you would for the Harley parts. I, personally would love to build a custom Panhead, but had to sell my last pan engine because I was laid off. But being a real biker, I searched until I found a used bike I could afford (a metric) and I am slowly working out the bugs; as well as stripping it down and chopping it up. Hey $10,000+ on a bike and $500+on leather DOESNT MAKE YOU A BIKER

When we were in Intercourse, PA you asked this same question. Harley yuppies can afford yachts. All of them are doctors, lawyers and bureaucrats. They put armor all on their black leathers to fit in. I saw it in Thunder In the Valley just yesterday.

You don't have any parts or engines. You are a 15yo kid, who feeds on a regular supply of new people to answer your ridiculous questions. You went to sit on a blokes HD once, and he threatened to kill you. Thats why you ridicule Harleys.
Give it up. You are just embarassing yourself. Not that I care in the least. You provide some amusement on a rainy day, so I suppose even village idiots are of some use.

I don't know how you will do, but I had a buddy who did pretty well as a vendor at Sturgis by selling T-shirts for just about every brand of bike but Harley. There were Harley shirts everywhere, but he was the only guy in town who could sell you a shirt for a Ducati, Guzzi, Enfield, Bultaco or CZ.
