Hold on, I have a GSX-R 1000 K8 and a K1200S and I can tell you that the bikes do very different things. For one quick lap of the ring then the gixxer is the bike for the job but if I want to sit at 160+ on the autobahn on the way home I’d take the beemer any day. They are not really comparable and saying the BMW is just a tool for rich idiots, that’s just jealousy.

Well my opinion of the bmw is that its overated and way overpriced , its just another tag for people to show off with , a gsxr1000 will eat one of these in any situations , I do the ring a lot and i can tell you the bmws dont come close

Really? I disagree. I had 2 Hondas and had big problems and the delaers just didnt care.
With BMWs I had minor issues and now a big one and BMW solved the problem free-of-charge even though it’s 2 years out of warranty. In my first one I did 92000 km with no issues at all.
Differences in top-speed and acceleration to a Busa are insignificant in public roads (how often do we use our bikes in racing circuits?). Besides… the K1200S front suspension is in another league compared with the japs.

“Beat”? A K1200S does 0-200 in about 8sek. A Gixxer1k and Busa a few tenths “quicker”.
BMW’s are not much more expensive than similar bikes from The Land of the Rising Sun. Don’t take things personal.
It is a nice vid that demonstrate how quick a bike like this accelerates.
