yes the 09s have all of the road legal stuff along with the electric start…. but all the off road bikes( including 2 strokes) have electric starts…and even the 450 sx is electric start

The SX is the …
The SX is the motorcross version with a close-ration tansmission and suspension set-up for the track. The EXC has a wider ratio tansmission and suspension setup for trail riding…the newer EXCs also comes wtih mirrors and blinkers so it is road legal and dual sport. If you wanna trail ride (no roads) then i would suggest the 450 XC or XCW. ( XC- closer ratio tranny and XCW- wide ratio tranny)

personaly i recon it is about the same with the red power valve spring. if u take the coloured springss out the bottom end is lower and top is higher than the 450

This is all true. I have the 400 EXC myself and it runs like a dream through all terrain. Even race tracks, for that you dont need to adjust anything.
