are sport motorcycle bad as a first bike even if you have passed your CBT if so why
and
who out there has had a sport bike as a first bike and how was it
MSF uses 250cc cruisers because they are easy to learn on.
Sport bikes tend to be tall with a short wheelbase.
That, along with the quick-revving engines make them more difficult to handle than a cruiser.

I always recommend a street legal, Dirt bike for first timers. They are easy to handle, fun to ride and don't cost much. If you dump a dirt bike, it won't cost you an arm and a leg to fix. Trust me, in 32+ years of riding, I have never met anyone, who hasn't put a bike down.
Sport bikes can be a real handful, if you don't have the experience to handle them. They are very fast, I don't mean just in speed. They start fast, they stop fast, they corner fast and they don't forgive very well. Kind of like a snake, if you know how to handle one. You are perfectly safe, but if you aren't, you will get bitten.

I second that. If I where to start all over again, I would have picked a dual sport. Nothing wrong with starting a sport bike, you just need to know that if you toy with its power it can kill you and very fast. Most of my friends who ride them have been in a few accidents which where almost always speed related in some way. I started on a '76 Honda CB550F, it was fun and definitely more useful than any 250cc would have been.

Actually,
There are a few sport bikes that are good starter bikes, such as the Ninja250 and the Buell Blast. You like sport bikes, that is cool, you have to be extra careful with them. The power to weight ratios on these bikes are mind-boggling, and it takes a very experienced rider to get the most out of a sport bike. On anything 600 and up, no matter how much training you have, one sloppy twist of the throttle will send you right into oncoming traffic, It takes a very experienced touch to make these bikes perform.
If you want a sport bike, go small first, ride one crash free season, then go nuts, that is advice that will save your life!

I agree with the above posters. See link below.
If you won't be happy with anything but a sportsbike, get a Kawasaki Ninja 250 and wring the guts out of it for at least a year. You'll learn far more that way than trying to pussyfoot around on a too-powerful first bike.
