@motocyklista17 I have owned both, they are great bikes, the duc can look a little hunched from the left side on its side stand, but very sweet from the right. The bonnie looks to chunky (compared to the old school Bonnies) from the right, the engine is a major let down as well as ar as looks go in comparison to the older bonnies.
As far as performance and fun factor goes the Duc wins buy a mile!

This is ridiculous, yo buy these bikes because they kool, or because they remind you of the old bikes, so suitable for older bikers…..performance doesn’t come into it, this is pure passion of biking, not how fast it climes the revs.

The Ducati GT1000 should not really be compared to a bonnie. I noticed that the basic build-up of the motorcycle was closer to a Honda Hornet (yes!) than a bonnie. So what I got was a modern bike with great looks…

I just love Ducati for their pricing policy. Where I live the Ducati started out 20% more expensive than the bonneville. I will pick up a brand new Ducati GT1000 in a couple of weeks… 20% CHEAPER than the bonneville. Go figure. Is this typical for Ducati? Triumph never seem to have any “campagn” prices around here….

I have a GT100. I tried a Bonneville before deciding what to buy. The Ducati felt a lot more like a modern bike. its certainly quicker. 12,000 miles later I have no doubt I made the right choice.
