Vid #1. I’m an auto & motorcycle race fan. Watching race strategies play out is interesting. Controversy & close calls raise the excitement. Unfortunate crashes and tumbles add that much more life to every race.
Within this video are crashes & tumbles from two NASCAR Series, Supercross, Motocross, Drag Races, and a few other alternative sports from the ’80s-’90s. Retro tunes replace the original race day audio. Commentators are replaced with tunes due to a malfunctioning VCR… Yes, VCR!!! I still have one… Ugg!
The video shows face-wincing crashes and tumbles. All drivers and riders within this compellation “lived to race another day.” No gore shown!
Some notable racers are Bob Glidden, Don Gay Jr., Guy Cooper, Jeff Stanton, Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, Michael McDowell, Ricky Rudd, Geoff Bodine, Kyle Petty, Lake Speed, Bobby Allison, the late Dale Earnhardt, and the late Davey Allison.
Bobby Allison’s 1987 “Talladega 500″ crash (at 212 miles-per-hour) into the tri-oval catch fencing brought restrictor plates in to realization on the 2.5-mile Superspeedways. The crash clip is not the best resolution, however, the crash illustrates why the restrictor plate is now used to slow the cars down.
Enjoy all the whoops!!

Yes, the fire was very bad. However, the driver’s mandatory multi-layer Nomex firesuit and mask protected his skin from the flames. Don Gay Jr. did suffer minor burns to his forearms. Nothing more serious.

Your English is perfect. And, yes, the dragster driver was knocked unconscious when he slammed the concrete wall. His car continued rolling, engine idling, until it came to a stop on the uphill grade. Dragster driver Don Gay Jr. was pulled from his car with minor burns. He did suffer a concussion and retired from racing not long after the accident.
Thank you for the kind words. Very appreciated.

Actually, it’s an Indy car crash from 1989. Kevin Cogan lost control of his Indy car coming out of turn 4 on lap 3 of the 1989 Indianapolis 500.
Kevin spun into the inside front stretch wall, rebounding into the attenuating barrier at the pit entrance, practically disintegrating his car and slicing it in half as it came to a stop in the pit area.
Miraculously, Cogan climbed out unhurt. Kevin can be seen raising his helmet shield as he slid along.
