VTX Drag Racing

On 02Dec05 I took my VTX motorcycle to the San Antonio Raceway (Texas). We ran the 1/4 mile in 11.3 seconds at 115mph with a 1.57 60 foot time.

Yes this seems to be a much requested item: “raw footage”. Given the cheap camera I was using I was lucky to get night shots period.

The video was not about proving the final results as much as it was about the experience of drag racing and getting ready for it. It is everything that leads up to the race and afterwards that contributes to this total experience. Next time I’ll include this raw footage.

I would have to agree lets see some raw footage.
I also agree that the 109’s looks are a bit off but I guess it is what you want speed or style. My Vtx is fast enough for me:)

A vtx is an aged pos at best and is far from good looking. But as long as you ride thats cool enjoy your x…maybe We’ll meet up and ride together some day……I’ll wait on you !!!!

Too bad your 109 looks like ,the VTX is a much better looking bike.I would rather ride what looks great than something faster.The will always be a faster bike each year so your point is moot

well from what I saw it will do a burnout, but so will my 5 y/o daughters 4 wheeler, If the hp and torque shown in the dyno chart are an indication I see it running low 12’s tops even with the skinny guy driving, make one with a full run shoeing realtime footage please, and send me that driver, at least my 109 will pull the front tire in the first few gears, with him I could get in the upper 9’s

umm did i miss the part where you actually drag? there was like 2 clips when you were already half way down and if you do decide to make another one plz loose the 3min of b.s. ya a few stills are cool but after the 20th one it was hard to keep watching

Loved the video, great work, kudos to the creator, also to the bike owner/builder nice numbers…. some time it is hard to belive a bike that big (1800 right?) can drop those numbers…

I sold my 1300 and buying an 1800N, can’t wait for delivery…

typical head work, …
typical head work, cams, new style intake manifold and exhaust. Used a PCIII to dial in the A/F ratio. Currently rebuilding the motor targeting low 10’s.
